F.A.Q.
What support models are available?
SR0001: Single front support.
SR0002: Double front support.
SR0006: Rear support.
What signage patterns are available?
SR STOP sign post.
What are the front and rear supports for?
They are designed to stabilize semi-trailers during loading/unloading operations, preventing tipping and lowering.
They can also be used for interchangeable bodies and tail lifts.
What is SR STOP for?
The SR STOP mast signals the presence of the supports under the semi-trailer and prevents the driver from hooking the tractor without first removing them.
What happens if I do not use the front supports?
The semi-trailer can tip over at the front, collapsing to the ground.
What happens if I do not use the rear supports?
The semi-trailer, due to suspension unloading, may give way at the rear, thus lowering the load floor, even suddenly.
What happens if I do not use SR STOP?
The driver may not see the supports placed under the semi-trailer, risking running over them when hooking up the tractor.
Where to place SR STOP?
SR STOP can be placed in front of and/or to the side of the semi-trailer.
What is the maximum load supported?
SR0001 and SR0002: 30 tons (static load).
SR0006: 15 tons (static load).
How do you adjust the height of the stand?
Operate the crank clockwise to raise and counterclockwise to lower. The stand has two speeds:Fast speed (11 mm/revolution): for fast handling without load.
Reduced speed (1 mm/revolution): for fine adjustment under load.
How do you engage the fast gear?
- Graft.
- turn the crank slightly.
- Pull up to the engagement.
How do you engage the reduced gear?
- Graft.
- turn the crank slightly.
- push all the way into engagement.
What PPE (personal protective equipment) is required?
- Protective gloves.
- Safety shoes.
- Reflective tunic.
- Protective helmet.
- Protective eyewear (during cleaning/maintenance).
- Face mask (if dust is generated).
How do you position the front support (SR0001/SR0002)?
- Lower the stand to the end of the stroke.
- Insert it under the semi-trailer, avoiding contrasting areas (e.g., fifth wheel pivot).
- Use fast gear to approach the flatbed, then low gear for contact.
- For SR0002, insert the safety pins into the holes in the side stems.
How do you position the back support (SR0006)?
- Lower the stand all the way down.
- Insert the bracket under the semi-trailer at the frame/spars.
- Ensure that the insertion position does not conflict with boxes/object trays/pallet racks.
- To avoid crushing hands, the handles should remain outside the semi-trailer bed.
- Engage the fast gear, then turn the crank and crank the deck up until it is close to the semi-trailer.
- Engage the reduced gear and bring into contact with the semi-trailer.
How to remove the stand from under the semi-trailer?
- Engage the reduced gear until the stand is slightly lowered.
- Engage the quick gear by lowering the stand to a useful height to be able to release it.
What to do in case of malfunction?
Check possible causes (e.g., limit switch, excessive load).
Do not force the mechanism.
Contact FERMI S.R.L. or an authorized workshop.
What is the required routine maintenance?
Daily checks: general condition, integrity of the bearing surface.
Lubrication: grease wear points every 6-8 months (or 3-4 months in severe conditions).
Monthly checks: wheels, stem, bolting tightening.
The warranty covers what damages?
24 months from the date of purchase.
Exclusions: normal wear and tear, unauthorized modifications, misuse, improper maintenance, non-original spare parts.
How to dispose of the media at the end of its life?
Contact an authorized collection center to dispose of metal components, lubricants and hazardous materials according to local regulations.
Where can I find spare parts?
Use only genuine FERMI spare parts (part numbers listed in Chapter 8. SPARE PARTS).
Provide model and serial number to manufacturer.
Is it possible to change the medium?
No. Unauthorized modifications will void the warranty and may compromise safety.
Can I park the semi-trailer without a tractor and without lifts, using only the stand placed under the vehicle?
No. Telescopic handlers must be intact and undamaged.
Can I request customization of the stand?
Yes, customization with colors of your choice can be considered at the request stage.
Does the medium comply with CE regulations?
Yes, all of our supports comply with CE regulations.
Where to store the supports?
In case of prolonged storage, put the holders away from rain and wind. Do not expose them to temperatures below 5° and above 50°.
What is meant by a danger zone?
The entire area adjacent to the semi-trailer is considered a danger zone and only the shunter may operate in this area. There must NOT be any forklifts or people inside, on top or underneath it during stand placement operations.
Is it possible to request training from Fermi on the use of media?
Yes, to learn all the concepts and for proper use Fermi also provides training courses.
How do I realize that I have reached the limit switch?
There is a hole or screw in the stem of the mounts that indicates the limit of the limit switch, which MUST NEVER be exceeded or the mount will be damaged.
What are the safety pins on SR0002 used for?
The pins are an additional safety as they perform the function of mechanically locking the side stems.
Can I lower/remove the SR0002 stand with the safety pins inserted?
NO, the pins should be removed before lowering SR0002 to prevent damage to the stand.
